WHAT: Cyber security at a Tea party? Yes! Cyber Security training can be boring but with this time of learning to your last scone, you can identify hackers seeking financial gain by stealing your information. Bring your cell phone, wear tea party attire, sip tea, and become cyber security aware.
Our presenter Sue Richards from SureIT, a security awareness company, will explore the intent behind different types of hackers, with a focus on scammers driven by financial gain in a tea party setting. We'll discuss real-world scenarios, such as identifying phishing emails, becoming security-aware about AI, the dangers of sharing photos with sensitive background information, and recognizing phone or text scams like fraudulent family emergencies.


There will be a hands-on session during the Tea Party using the principle of TEA session—Think, Explore, Act—where the attendee will have the opportunity to check their mobile devices and see if it is up to date with the latest software protections, evaluate their app settings for maximize privacy, and if time permits demonstrate how to easily install a free multi-factor authentication tool for social media accounts. Tea and Technology is a safe, fun and engaging setting to learn technology while enjoying scones, cookies, lavender lemonade, coffee, and tea.
